The Pros & Cons of Hitchhiking - Waters, Roger

| | Comments (0)

Roger Waters' first formal solo album came out in 1984, and he had Eric Clapton on guitar for it. It is an odd record, with the constraints of Pink Floyd removed, Waters was free to do his own thing, which means a less "musical" album - I feel that the Waters/Gilmour pairing is special, but apart, they're still good, just not great. Hitchhiking was originally presented to Pink Floyd after Animals, along with the Wall - Floyd chose The Wall, so this got left over for solo. I can see why. It's not bad, it's quite good, but very eclectic, and while I loved it (and the two times I saw it live in concert made it even better), it's not for everyone.

BTW, the naked ass picture is rare, it came out that way, and people freaked out about it, and forced the more common image with a black bar on it as you can see here.
