Martin, Tony

This CD I got through my usual record connections running the Black Sabbath site. However, if I didn't get it for free, I would most certainly pay for it.

This album is absolutely killer! As I'm writing this, I've only had it for about 3 or 4 days, so I need more time to write a proper review, but you have to get this if you're a fan of the Tony Martin era of Black Sabbath. This is a killer album.

It's almost a pure solo album, as Tony is on vocals, plays all the bass, some guitar, some drums, and even the violin!

CD single off Tony's Back Where I Belong album. This "single" has three songs on it. Both the single & album versions of If There is A Heaven, as well as India. I don't recall where I picked this up - I'm fairly sure I got it in a trade, I don't remember paying for it. Either way, I have absolutely no idea how to get it now.

When Black Sabbath "booted" Tony Martin out in favor of Ronnie Dio for 1992's Sabbath reunion, Tony went off and made this solo album. It's quite good, but is nowhere near as heavy as Sabbath is/was. This has a nice blues feel across it, some straightforward rock - nothing really groundbreaking, but some nice songs here just the same. It was out of print for a good long time, but is available again.
