We've Come For You All - Anthrax

Anthrax returns with their first new album in quite some time. After the last several disappointing Anthrax albums, I didn't hold out a lot of hope for this one. I got this one for free from a record label, but after listening to it for some time now I have to say that I would have bought it just the same. It's the best thing since Sound of White Noise by far, and while not as good as White Noise, there's plenty of good tracks here. What Doesn't Die, Superhero (my favorite), Safe Home, Taking the Music Back... This is a good one, and I'm glad to see they have some good stuff in them. However, Scott Ian really needs to shave that goofy beard of his.

Hopefully they get past this "reunion" stuff and get back to making good records. This reminds me of what Kiss did with Psycho Circus. They had a great album and lineup after several "eh" or "fair" albums, and then tossed it aside in the name of a reunion. I hope Anthrax puts it back together with Bush, he's my favorite Anthrax singer.

I agree that this last Anthrax record 'We've Come For You All' is a definite buy for any long-time Anthrax fan. But being a die-hard Anthrax fan for more than a dozen years now, I obviously disagree with you completely Joe about the quality of their career discography so far. I actually like/love all Anthrax records, with only 'State of Euphoria' being clearly my least favourite of the Anthrax catalog.

And it's a bit odd to see you say that "After the 'last several' disappointing Anthrax albums...". You mentioned you loved 'Sound of White Noise' (Bush's '93 debut with the band) and then now you really like 'WCFYA'..There were only TWO studio albums (hardly 'several') in between these two: 'Stomp 442' and 'Vol 8: The Threat Is Real'. What about the 3 live albums? Have you heard any of them? The 'reunion' one titled 'Alive 2' is quite a swell live effort that I love. So you want the 'reunion' with Joey to be aborted and the band to carry on with John. I actually don't mind one bit either Joey or John, cos they are both great for the band. Here's hoping for a brand new blockbuster Anthrax record in 2007 with either of the JBs fronting it.
