The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Tertiary Phase - Adams, Douglas

| | Comments (0)

Douglas Adams died in 2001 after having written several Hitchhiker's Guide books and other material. Before he died, he had recorded some voices for the continuation of the original radio serials, but they were never made. Until 2004. Roughly three years after his death, Douglas Adams' work was used - in this package. Originally aired on BBC4 Radio, these CD's chronicle the contiuation of the HHG story. What's interesting is that the voices are the same ones that did the original radio episodes, so there's a nice continuity to it (although one original actor is dead, which is excusable for that change in voice). As funny as ever, if you're a fan of off the wall British comedy, you'll probably enjoy this.

What's amusing is that Douglas Adams himself has a voice in this, something he had recorded several years before this came out for inclusion in a future production. The character he played was quite possibly made me laugh out loud more than anything else here, and I didn't even know it was him until after I had finished.
