The Last Day
Today is the last day of 2005. It's definitely been the most eventful year of my life. I became a father for the first time, and turned 40 as well.
As I sit here writing this, I wonder why we waited so long to have a baby. Samantha has been wonderful. God bless her, and I thank God for the wonderful gift he's bestowed upon us.
We're also getting real close to speech, as da-da and ma-ma are here, although they're not directed at either one of us, so I'm not officially counting them as "first word". Both of us have thought we've heard "kitty". Also, she has made sounds that sound like "Hi!" and waved, so I think she might grasp that, too. There's also certain words that set her off laughiung for no particular reason. This week we had the word "Squash" would start her laughing every time we'd say it. A week before that it was just "Ba", so we're never really sure what word will set her off (like one other time it was "diaper"). It's wonderful hearing her laugh like that.
I also feel a bit sad for Lynn as it's the last day she can say "I had a baby this year". I have a feeling she might be a hankerin' for a second child. ;)

Happy New Year! :)
