Samantha Stuff
Lynn informed me this morning as I was getting ready for work that it was one year ago today that we found out we were having a girl. I remember that day well, as I cried for Lynn, as I knew she wanted a girl really badly. After we left the hospital in Dallas, we made some phone calls, and went to Chili's - what a celebration! ;) Anyway, that night I went out and registered samanthasiegler.com. Was a lot of excitement that day.
A year later, we have a great daughter, who is a happy baby, really healthy - we're pretty blessed in that regard. There's been tons of things that have happened lately, but some of the more fun things are...
- She always seems to get really excited to see me when I come home from work. Big wide open mouthed smile, and then into the "full body wiggle" where all her extremities are flailing at once.
- She watched us decorate our Christmas Tree last night. She helped hang one of the ornaments, too.
- She gets really stupid happy looking at pictures of herself. My Windows background at home is a recent picture of her. One of the things I do is hold her while I look at a few things on the web, and she generally is pretty content with that. However, if I minimize everything and show her the picture of herself, she gets a huge grin, and starts laughing. She seems to enjoy pictures of herself. I'll hide the pic, she'll calm down, and then start lauhging again when I bring the picture back up. That's really fun to watch. Only works for recent pictures, she doesn't seem to recognize herself as a newborn (not surprising, but still...).
I can't wait to see what she does on Christmas morning.
One sad note about our Christmas Tree. My shuttlecraft ornament is broken. It doesn't light up or talk anymore. No more "Spock to Enterprise" calls to my brother. :(

No wonder she's not laughing while you're surfing the web.
