MPAA - FOAD

| | Comments (1)

Read this and weep.

It's scary how nonsensical the MPAA is. These people need to go away. I'm not advocating anarchy and no control, but if you read through all of what I link to above, it's scary. Spend some time and read this.

It made me so mad, I can't say anything about it, because every other would would be obscene.

You know, there's only one way to tell the industry giants behind this what you think about their DRM crap: vote with your wallet, don't buy their stuff. Don't support an industry that's fighting a war against its own customers.

Same goes for content/copy-protected CD's. Take it from a european guy. The big labels have flooded the european market with that sh!t (excuse my french but this really annoys me) since 2001. So I'm supposed to pay 16,99 Euros ( ~ 20 USD) for a CD that

a) won't allow me to rip the music files to play them on my mp3 player

and

b) won't play in my car audio

and

c) causes huge trouble on older CD players because the error correction of these devices goes nuts because it can't handle the huge amount of errors voluntarily placed on a copy protected disk?

Yeah, right...

Oh, and let's not forget Sony's latest dirty trick, that lil' rootkit they secretly install on your computer system overwriting parts of the Windows Kernel and your CD/DVD-Rom driver.

Thank's guys, thanks a bunch! Uh, a "No, thanks" that is.

I'm lucky. I've got a huge collection of CD's (as you, Joe :) ). And I'll save a lot of money not buying CD's anymore.
