I miss my wife Pt 2
Yesterday was not a good day in JoeLand (not to be confused with my "Happy Place", V). When my wife and I got married, in our entire 9 year relationship up until that point, we had spent something like 95 days together total. That's it. So when we did get married, we were definitely one of those couples that spends a lot of time together, and (well, me anyway, I can't speak for Lynn) has withdrawal pains when we're away from each other. Last night I had no desire to read, be on the computer, watch TV, play videogames, or even eat. I just wanted to do NOTHING, and that wasn't any fun, either. It was so bad, I ended up doing yardwork - spreading dirt around the base of my house, something I'm told is a necessary thing to do down here in Texas. Oh joy - I take my wife to the airport, and the highlight of my afternoon was going to Lowe's to buy six 40 pound bags of dirt. On the positive side, I got the whole bed to myself, and I didn't have to make the damn thing! \o/
Anyway, I slept a lot last night (something like 12 hours), and this afternoon I was over at V's house to watch the Cowboys game - that was fun just hanging out - I don't do that near enough; I really should do that some more. Ended up going out to dinner with V and his kid, which was fun. I'm headed back over there on Wednesday for the start of hockey season. After I got back home to watch the Eagles game (which they barely won), and the Steelers game (which my wife was at in Pittsburgh), I have to say that I had a fun day. My wife will be calling any time soon, as she was doing so once she got back home - I know they got blown out, but I hope my wife had a good time, it's the first Steeler game she's gone to in ages, and the first since they opened their new stadium 3 years ago.
Non sequitur comment: I'm looking forward to the release of Grand Theft Auto III for the Xbox next month. What's cool is that they're putting both GTA3 & it's sequel "Vice City" in the same package, so that will be cool. Kind of a bonus I suppose for making Xbox owners wait forever to get the game. And I'm also looking forward to the release of the Wallace & Gromit game there, too. Go figure. :)
Mood: Hot - Might turn the AC back on tonight.
Music: Black Sabbath's Born Again.
